First completed edition of Tasso's poem on the creation of the world, which is considered one of the poet's finest achievements after the epic Gierusalemme Liberata. It is a long poem, written in blank verse, inspired by Saint Ambrose's Hexameron and perhaps by Du Bartas' La sepmaine sacré ou Création du Monde. The first two parts of this posthumously printed work, and the works was completed thanks to the work of Angelo Ingegneri against the wishes of Cardinal Aldobrandini who believed that the work was "ben sanata d'ogni mancamento che vi fosse".Gamba 965.
