The author of the first work is given on p. 131 as Mr. Du Bois de la Cour, a pseudonym of Filleau de la Chaume who is also the author of Histoire de Saint Louis (see Barbier). The Privilege du Roy is dated 21 September 1670, the same year as the first edition of the Pensées, although this discourse was not published until 1672. There is no indication as to the author of the second work. Both parts are sometimes found bound with the first Elzevier edition of the Pensées, published in 1673. A little worming affecting inner margins at beginning, slight marginal dampstaining at beginning and end.
