Single leaf, with single column, 16 lines in a squat and rounded early gothic hand, rubrics in red, capitals touched in red, small initials in liquid gold with contrasting penwork, two 2-line initials in blue or beige with coloured foliage on burnished gold grounds, these extending into decorative coloured foliate borders on two sides with spiky edged gold grounds and bezants, these growing from the lion’s tail in the inner upright border, some small scuffs and spots, 119 by 88 mm. (written space: 75 by 53 mm.)
The parent volume was commissioned for a wealthy Dominican preacher: a sister leaf has the rubric “Officium beate virginis maria secundum ordinem fratrum predicatorum”.
