An attractive quotation by the greatest of all operetta composers, best known for his Merry Widow. Paganini had its premiere in January 1926 and was of several operettas he wrote especially for the tenor Richard Tauber. Set in Naples at the beginning of the nineteeth century, it tells the story of the love affair betwenn the flamboyant violinist and Napoleon's sister, Elisa.
