Three working pencil studies, unsigned, of the arm and hand of a child, holding a stick. The most detailed study shows the shoulder and part of the head and ear. Drawn on the upper half of an 8vo page, evidently from a sketchbook.Undated, probably 1880's.

Kate Greenaway always had trouble drawing feet and hands, and spent many years under the tutelage of John Ruskin, who attempted to instruct her in the proper technique.
