Titus Boeder was born in Freiburg, Germany and read Chinese with Japanese at Durham University. After graduating he worked for two years in the rare book section of Charles E Tuttle in Tokyo before returning to academia to undertake a Phd at Hamburg University.

Titus joined Maggs in 1995 and deals in Japanese photobooks and design as well as the Far East more generally.
