Based in New York, Mark Tewfik is an independent rare book consultant who works as Maggs's agent in the United States. He has a BA in Political Science from the University of Western Australia and an MA in the same subject from the University of Melbourne. He spent some years as a new bookseller before getting his start in antiquarian trade at Hordern House Rare Books in Sydney, Australia. Mark deals primarily in voyages to Australia and the Pacific as well as the colonial experience in India, Africa, and the Americas. He occasionally contributes to the Sydney Morning Herald.
