John joined Maggs in 2005 after working for a bookseller in Cambridge, Massachusetts for two years, running his own business and several months with Bernard Quaritch in London. He has a BA in English Literature and an MA in European History both from Providence College. John has a particular interest in sixteenth century English books, European Britannica, and books and manuscripts related to the abolition of the slave trade.

An avid runner, John has competed in track, cross country and road races in a number of countries.
