Hinda Rose was born in Kilkeel and read English and French literature at Trinity College, Dublin. After graduating, she had spells in the civil service and the financial sector before coming happily to rest in the autograph department, where her particular enthusiasms are the Tudor and Stuart periods and Lord Byron and his circle. She enjoys opera (particularly Verdi), film noir, and the South of France, and while she has been known to take long country walks she really prefers the reassuring feel of concrete beneath her feet. She collects 19th century visiting cards and miniature model elephants, of which she now has a substantial herd.
